Get to Know Sherry

Sherry joined the CASA team in October 2020.  She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Lipscomb University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama; she is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Tennessee.  Sherry was a CASA volunteer prior to joining the staff, and her experience includes an internship with the juvenile division of the Public Defender’s office as well as working for Youth Villages, where she provided community-based counseling for at-risk youth and their families.  These experiences fueled her passion for serving this vulnerable population, especially youth caught in both the juvenile justice and child welfare systems.  She believes that every child deserves hope and a safe and permanent home in which to thrive. Project STARFISH (Serving Teens ARisk and Families In need of Support and Hope) aims to serve children and youth who are both neglected and dependent and have juvenile delinquency charges.
