Safe Babies Program
Our Safe Babies Program is a specialized initiative within the Davidson County Juvenile Court that focuses on supporting infants aged 0-3 years. We use a trauma-informed approach rooted in the nationally recognized Zero to Three best practice model. This program offers comprehensive wrap-around services to families, working closely with parents and community providers to reunite children with their families of origin as quickly and safely as possible. We emphasize the importance of early attachment and strive to ensure that very young children receive the care and stability they need during this critical developmental period.

Hispanic and Immigrant Advocacy
Our Hispanic and Immigrant Advocacy Program was created to address the unique needs of our growing Hispanic and immigrant communities. Recognizing the challenges these families face within the child welfare system, we have dedicated a bilingual staff position to provide specialized support. This program ensures that Spanish-speaking and immigrant children and families receive the advocacy and resources they need, helping them navigate the complexities of the system with confidence and understanding.

Adolescent Advocacy Program
In response to the increasing number of youth placed in residential facilities across Tennessee, our Adolescent Advocacy Program was developed to provide dedicated support to these young individuals. Whether through a volunteer advocate or a paid staff member, our program prioritizes the unique needs of adolescents in residential care. This advocacy continues as they transition to foster care or return to their family of origin, ensuring they receive consistent support throughout their journey.

Project STARFISH
Launched in 2022, Project STARFISH (Serving Teens At Risk and Families in Need of Support and Help) addresses the complex needs of teens and youth with a history of neglect, dependency, and delinquency charges. We understand the “pipeline to prison” and are committed to disrupting this trajectory by providing targeted support to these vulnerable individuals. This program primarily serves youth from the 37208 ZIP code, where 99% of participants are BIPOC or Hispanic. Our goal is to offer these teens the resources and advocacy they need to avoid further involvement in the juvenile justice system and to build brighter futures.

Peer Coordinator Program
The Peer Coordinator Program is designed to enhance our capacity to serve more children and youth by leveraging the expertise of highly trained, experienced advocates. These veteran advocates mentor and supervise new volunteer advocates during their first CASA cases. This program not only equips new advocates with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, but it also fosters the retention and growth of our volunteer base, allowing us to make a greater impact in the lives of the children we serve.
