Volunteer Friday: Basileia Church

Today’s Volunteer Friday blog is about Basileia Church in East Nashville that has sent a team of volunteers for the Shelby Bottoms Boogie 5k/15k for the past two years. Since the Boogie is coming up tomorrow we thought we’d thank them for their hard work and generosity!

Basileia Church started meeting in March of 2011 and dedicated themselves to ministering to the community of East Nashville. Their name comes from the Greek term “basileia” which means kingdom. The church is unified in their belief that they are to work for the glory of God, not for their own benefit. They meet at 700 Russel Street every Sunday at 5:00 pm. They have small groups that meet on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm called Village. They are also having their annual picnic at East Park this Sunday, September 30th at 2:00 pm.

If you are interested in learning more about Basileia, they would be happy to have you join them at East Park tomorrow.  They also have a Facebook page and Twitter.

We hope to see you all at the Boogie tomorrow morning!
